Marketing Archives

If you are just starting an affiliate program, you need to find affiliates.  You have a website outlining the terms and conditions of your program and an application.  Even if you use a third-party affiliate hosting program, you still need to lead potential affiliates to your website.  Yes, is important to focus on selling them.  You need to convince them that your program is the best to join.  First, focus on getting them there.  What are your options?

Article directories.  Article directories are popular and they do show results.  Website owners have been using them as internet marketing tactics for years.  Moreover, other websites and blogs use your articles.  All information, including links back to your affiliate program website stay. Within weeks, you will find this information scattered around the web.  Article directories work by linking back to your website.  Before submitting an article, check your links.  Ensure they do lead back to the correct spot.

When using article directories, you have two main options.  You want to target internet users who want to get behind a good product or service, like what you have to offer.  You also want to target experienced website owners and bloggers who are looking for another way to increase their income.  You can write articles about the products or services you sell.  Do a review and at the end of your article mention that readers can make money through promoting.  For those who want to make money online, write generalized articles about affiliate programs.  Cover topics that include what they are, how they work, and how everyone makes money.  At the end of each article, provide a link back to your affiliate program website.

Online classified ads.  When looking for jobs, many individuals bypass the printed employment sections and opt to find the same information online.  This is where the greatest potential is.  When choosing online classified websites, opt for those with free or reduced rates.  Clearly highlight your program.  There is some confusion.  Many classified websites have strict rules on pyramid schemes.  If you are just paying your affiliates each time they help you generate a sale, no strings attached, you should not have problems.

When using online classified ads, it is important to explain your opportunity in detail.  Not everyone knows what affiliate programs are.  If your listing states “earn 5% commission,” most readers will actually think that is in addition to an hourly rate.  It is not.  Fully explain your affiliate program, the tasks required to make money, and the payment terms.  Eliminate confusion and weed out applicants right from the start.

Job posting websites or forums for home-based workers.  Many people want to work from home.  That has lead to an influx of work-at-home job posting websites and message boards.  Visit these websites and look around.  Can you post listings for affiliate programs?  If so, do it!  These individuals have already decided they want to work from home.  Your opportunity allows them to do that.

When posting information about your affiliate program and linking back to your website, provide as much information as possible.  As previously stated, these individuals want to work from home and most have done research already.  They should know that an affiliate program is based on sales and commission only, not an hourly rate.  Still, provide as much information as possible.  Work-at-home job and opportunity listings seem less like a scam when they go into great detail.

Online message boards.  When it comes to online message boards, opt for those that are based on running websites or blogs, internet marketing, or working from home.  These individuals can give your affiliate program the most time.  Many are also educated on running a website, marketing, and ad placement.

When highlighting your paid affiliate program opportunity and linking back to your website on a message board, read all rules first.  Some only allow you to advertise job opportunities in specific sections.  Don’t spam the boards.  Next, utilize profile links and signatures.  Wherever you can put a link without breaking the forum rules, do it.  The key to leading potential affiliates to your website is to post and often.  The more messages you post on a forum, the more your links will appear.

In conclusion, there are many ways that you can lead potential affiliates to your program website.  In fact, these are just a few of your options.  Overtime, you will see that word-of-mouth works great.  When your affiliates start making money, they will discuss the opportunity with others.  Soon, you won’t need to lead applicants to your website, as they will find it on their own.

If you run an affiliate program, training is important.  As new affiliates come onboard, they need to learn the ropes.  They need to know the rules of the program and familiarize themselves with ways to improve success.  This may involve learning about banner placement and internet marketing.

As the operator of an affiliate program, it is your job to train your affiliate.  The best approach is to have an easy to follow guide.  Once affiliates are entered into your system, ensure they have smooth sailing from there.  Your affiliates should be able to find the coded links or banners they want within minutes, add them to their website, and publish.  Make sure your system is setup correctly and is easy to navigate.  By doing so, the initial training required is small to none.

With that said, making money with affiliate programs involves more than putting embedded links and banners on a website.  It involves good ad placement and internet marketing.  Internet marketing is important because if no one sees your affiliates’ websites, they won’t see your links.  You might not consider internet marketing a part of your training, but you should.  Provide a detailed list of tips on how to successfully market a website and affiliate products as a whole.  Make this list readily available for your new affiliates to see.

As previously stated, running a successful affiliate program involves more than showing your affiliates how to get links, banners, and other graphics.  You need to teach them how to successfully market a website and product.  Unfortunately, you may not have time for this.  What should you do?  Rely on your other affiliates to help each other.  With a few simple steps, your affiliates will be helping each other through technical problems, website design problems, and internet market problems in no time at all.

So, how do you let your affiliates help each other?  With a message board for members only.  If you don’t already have an online message board, now is the time to create one.  This is easy, as there are many programs available online for free or affordable rates.  Upload the codes to your website and you should have a forum.  Encourage your affiliate, through the program website and emails to join.  Once they register for a free account and start participating in discussions the rest will take off from there.

The only problem you may face is that internet marketers and affiliates wear many hats.  Making money through your affiliate program is just one of the many things they do online.  You want your experienced affiliates to join in on the discussions, as they are the individuals who can provide the community with the most beneficial information.  Ask a few affiliates or provide a small amount of monetary compensation at first.  After awhile, it will become natural to these individuals and they will participate in discussions without pressure.

Although an online message forum for your affiliates is a great way to have them help and train each other, it is important to not forget about your duties.  You are the person in charge of the affiliate program.  Visit the boards a couple times a week to participate in discussions yourself.  Quickly review the posts to ensure all tips and tricks shared are accurate and inline with the program rules.  An online message board does not diminish your position, but it does lessen the work you have to do.

You run an affiliate program.  You collaborate with other website owners.  Most of these websites are content driven websites.  They place affiliate banners or text links throughout the pages.  Each time a click generates a sale, the affiliate makes money.  Affiliate programs are great concepts.  Everyone involved wins.  Unfortunately, you may run into a problem.  That problem is affiliates who do not display your banners and text links.

As previously stated, an affiliate makes money each time a banner or another tracked link on their website or blog generates a sale.  They have some control over how much money they make.  So, why would some affiliates join your program and not use your banners and links?  There are many reasons.

It may be too hard.  What many internet users do not understand is that not everyone is on the same level.  You can easily navigate a website, build a website from scratch, and copy and paste a few HTML codes, but not everyone can.  Right now, many people want to work from home.  They are jumping on the affiliate bandwagon.  These individuals create a website or blog.  Unfortunately, when some go to place affiliate banners and links, they find it too difficult.  These inexperienced internet users often toss up their hands and say “oh well.”  They then move on to the next moneymaking opportunity.

When this occurs, your first though may be to say “good riddance.”  After all, if someone cannot copy and paste a few codes, how are they going to run and market a website?  Don’t think this way.  We all have to start from somewhere.  Today, some of the best website owners and affiliates are those who started in the business on a whim or small chance it may work out.  Luckily for them, it did.  You may find some of these individuals in the bunch.  How do you rectify the situation?  Make it easier for affiliates to get links.  Ensure the system is easy to navigate.  Then, give them a step-by-step guide.  This guide should include how to login to the system, browse or search for affiliate links, copy and paste them on their website or blog.

The lack of participation from new affiliates may have to do with money.  Affiliate programs come in a different shapes and sizes.  Some affiliates earn a varying percentage from each sale generated, while others earn a flat fee.  Regardless, make sure you are providing your affiliates with fair compensation.  This benefits everyone involved.  If you can’t increase your commission, opt for unique approaches, like hosting contests.  Give an extra $25 or $50 to the top performing or most improved affiliate.  This incentive not only provides an extra push, it may help to compensate for the small commission.

Another reason why some website or blog owners join and affiliate program and don’t use the links is because they are lazy.  It is as simple as that.  In this aspect, there is not much that you can do.  Now, it is time to think about yourself.  In fact, create a deadline.  Give each affiliate one month to add your banners to their websites or else you will terminate the partnership.  This provides the extra push to get it done.  When each member applies to be an affiliate, they provide you with their website address, visit the website.  Don’t see your banners or links on there?  Send on reminder email.  If after that, they don’t take action, terminate the partnership.

As you can see, there are many reasons why some internet users apply for affiliate programs and stop there.  They do not do anything else.  They don’t place your banners on their website and they don’t ask for help.  Give it a couple of chances, but don’t waste your time.  There are plenty of website and blog owners who genuinely love what they do and want to actively participate in affiliate programs.  Spend your time coaching and encouraging these individuals, they are where the profit is.

If you want to rely on others to help market your website and increase sales, an affiliate program is a way to go.  An affiliate program is the perfect partnership, as everyone involved makes money.  Depending on your business or what you sell, you provide affiliates with coded links or banners or sales page templates.  Their website visitors click on the links.  If a sale is made, you make money, but so does your affiliate.  Once again, this is literally the perfect partnership.

Although it is relatively easy to find affiliates for your program, as most consider affiliate programs an easy way to make money, there is some work required on your part.  There are thousands of affiliate programs online.  You need to sell yourself; convince your readers that your program is the best there is.  How can do you do this?  What steps can you take?

Making your affiliate program website easy to find.  Whether you are handling your own affiliate program or letting a third-party hosting company do it, make sure all interested applicants can find your website.  Use the internet to market.  Post links on work-at-home forums, home based job listing websites, online classified ads, and so forth.  The first step in getting affiliates for your program is to get them to your website.  Next, comes to selling part.  How do you get your readers to join your affiliate program?

By going into detail.  Never assume that all want-to-be home-based workers know what affiliate programs are.  Right away, people will see that you only earn a percentage from each sale.  Those unfamiliar with affiliate programs will automatically assume the opportunity is a scam, but it isn’t.  Provide as much detail as possible.  Explain how the process works, how money is made, the steps affiliates need to take to make money, and go into great detail describing the product, service, or company affiliates will be promoting.

By having support available and making it known.  State you or another company representative will be available to take complaints, questions, and suggestions via phone or email.  Assure your applicants that they will not be left alone to make money.  You will help get them stated by provided detailed step-by-step guides and additional support.  After all, you benefit from their success as a paid affiliate too.

By having testimonials.  This includes for both the affiliate program and the company as a whole.  Get testimonials from current affiliates stating it easy to and fun to make money.  Next, people want to know they are promoting a good product, service, or company.  Have testimonials from customers.  For example, if you sell handmade baby clothes ask a parent to review their recent purchase.  Most will do so anyways, but consider giving all reviewers a moneysaving coupon for their next purchase.  Not only do you get a solid review, but a repeat customer!

By having a good commission rate.  There are thousands of affiliate programs online.  Many choose an affiliate program based on the product, service, or company.  They want to stand behind something they can believe in.  On the other hand, most are focused just on money.  They want to earn the most.  A high commission rate is likely to attract customers, but always consider your bottom line.  Everyone needs to get paid, all expenses must be account for and you still need to turn a profit.

By making it easy to get payment.  Affiliate programs have varying payouts.  Some make their affiliates wait until they reach $100 and others get paid at only $10.  Whichever you choose, make sure your affiliates don’t have to wait long.  It may take new affiliates 6 months or more to earn $100.  Yes, it will get easier and quicker overtime, but they may not stick around long enough to see.

In short, you need to sell yourself.  You are already selling products or services online, but you need to sell yourself again.  You need to convince all visitors to your affiliate program website that your program is the best way to make money online and from home.  Use the above mentioned tips to do so.

Affiliate Managers:  Why You Should Create a FAQ Section

Do you operate an affiliate program?  If so, your program will soon start to takeoff, if it hasn’t already.  When your current affiliates are paid and pleased with the results, they will talk about the program online.  Word will spread that money is to be made with your affiliate program.  Getting new affiliates is nice, but it is a lot of work.  Not all of these affiliates are familiar with affiliate programs, ad placement, web design, and internet marketing.  You will likely hear a lot questions.  Of course, you should answer these questions, but take them and create a frequently asked questions section on your website or message board.

One of the many reasons why you should create a frequently asked questions section about your affiliate program is because it reduces the questions asked.  As an affiliate manager, you have many tasks.  You cannot spend all day answering simple questions, like how do I know which banner performs the best and so forth.  By creating a frequently asked questions section and by displaying it on your program website or message board, you eliminate some of these questions.  Your new affiliates can head straight to your section and get the answers to their questions.  If, by chance, the question wasn’t answered then they can email you.

Another reason why a frequently asked question section is a good idea for your affiliate program website is because of the information it provides.  New affiliates are likely to have questions, but those questions won’t come at the same time.  You direct new affiliates to the frequently asked question section and they read it.  They get a lot of information on common concerns.  They are now educated.  The more information you provide, the better.

Speaking of information, what should you include in a frequently asked questions section?  It is important to cover all aspects of using and making money from your affiliate program.

To get started, clarify the rules and restrictions.  Common questions in this area are about using affiliate links to make personal purchases and having the company or product name in the web address.  If you do not want your company name used in any http address, state so.  If you don’t want your affiliates to click on their links for personal purchases and get paid commission, state so.

Next, focus on getting started with links and banners.  Depending on your program, you may have text links, banners, and picture links for individual products.  One of the questions you will be asked is “how do I find them?”  Provide detailed instructions.  Take any other questions you have been asked about using your embedded links or pictures and insert them here.

Then, focus on how affiliates make money.  Of course, it is each time a sale is generated through an affiliate link, but restate this again.  Then, state the importance of internet marketing.  One common question you will get asked is “how do I market my website or the affiliate product?”  This is where you can provide a detailed list of direction or tips.

Finally, focus on payment.  Your new affiliates not only want to know how they make money, but how much, when they get paid, how often, and through what method.  Take these questions and answer them in this section.  State your minimum payout requirement, how payment is processed, and when your affiliates can expect to receive it.

The above mentioned examples are just a few of your ideas.  You want to take the most common questions you have been asked by new affiliates in the past and compile those questions and their answers into an easy to read list.

Accepting Affiliates:  The Importance of Website Reviews

If you are using an affiliate program to increase sales, you will need to find affiliates to partner with.  These individuals will use links and banners to promote your company and the products you sell.  Simply by listing the opportunity online, you will get a many takers.  People see working as an affiliate as an easy way to make money.  Since you will get many applications, be sure to review all the information.  Most importantly, visit and review the website.

As for why it is important to review and approve all interested affiliates, it has to do with your company or product name.  You spend years or months to get where you are today.  You have a quality product or service that sells.  You are making a good name for yourself.  Don’t throw it all away.  Not all internet users understand affiliate programs.  Some automatically see your company name or logo on a website and assume it is yours.  They may not know it is actually the website of a paid affiliate, a completely different person.

You now know the importance of protecting your company name, products, and services.  However, when it comes to reviewing affiliate websites, what should you avoid?

Pornographic material.  You may be surprised how many websites have these images and others fall into the borderline category.  Remember, think about your image.  Most owners of pornographic websites wouldn’t knowingly apply for an affiliate program with a kid’s clothes store and show naked pictures of women, but you honestly never know.  Some actually do this just to get a laugh or to be devious for no other reason.  Don’t fall victim to this idiotic behavior by not reviewing all interested affiliates and their websites.

Bad language.  With cursing, it is hard.  Fifty years ago, you wouldn’t hear some individuals toss around a swear word, but now people do it all the time.  In fact, bad language even appears on network television.  In this aspect, use your best judgment.  Lookout for words that are likely to negatively effect readers and your customers.  Always remember, think about your company image.  Don’t assume that all internet users know the website is not yours, just an affiliates.

Highly debatable topics.  Unless you can put a good spin on things, it is best to stay away from debatable topics.  The only exception would be if your service or product were built on debate.  Unfortunately, someone always gets offended.  For example, a website or blog that touches on the subject of abortion takes a pro-life stance.  Great if you sell baby products.  Nevertheless, there is a lot of debate surrounding this topic.  Others strongly claim it is not the government’s right or anyone else’s to make the choice.  Do you want your name, company name, or products boycotted by these individuals?  It is rare, but it may happen.

Hard to navigate websites.  Building a website is easy.  Even beginners who are unfamiliar with HTML can build a website with a site builder program.  Unfortunately, it is a lot harder to connect the pages.  Some websites are so hard to navigate that readers can’t get away fast enough.  Don’t let your links be displayed on these types of websites.  First, the reader may associate you with this poorly built website.  Next, they likely won’t stay on the website long enough to see your links or banners.

Copyrighted material.  Although it is difficult to determine if content on an affiliate’s website is stolen or duplicated, it is important to know.  Search engines like to penalize websites with duplicate content, even if it was obtained legally.  They want to provide internet users with the best, unique information.  Therefore, if an affiliate of yours gets their articles from free article directories, they may be penalized.  Their website may not appear until the 10th page of a search.  In that case, there is a slim chance your links will get viewed, let alone clicked on.  In addition, if the content was stolen, the original owner may try to contact you to rectify the situation, as your company name was displayed on the page.

If you run an affiliate program, you want to reward your current affiliates for doing a job well-done.  On that same note, you want to bring attention to your affiliate program and get new online agents to signup.  How do you do that?  With contests designed especially for your affiliates.

As great as it is to hear that contests can generate interest in your affiliate program and reward your top affiliates, you may wonder how and why?  What is it that makes these events so successful?  If you need proof that affiliate contests do work, continue reading on for five benefits.

1 – You Have a Wide Range of Options

Affiliate contests come in all different formats.  You have the freedom to decide what type of affiliates you want to reward.  Do you want to give a prize to those who participate the most in the message board community?  Do you want to pay the top earning or most improved affiliate a bonus?  You can.  Bonuses and monetary compensation are not the only prizes available.  You sell a product; consider giving it away as a prize or choose a popular electronics device, like a computer or Blu-Ray player.

2 – They Are Easy

Hosting a contest for your affiliates may seem like a lot of hard work, but it very easy.  It all depends on the type of contest you hold.  Do you want to reward the most active participants in the community forum?  You will see how many posts each member has.  Opt for the member with the most posts or the most detailed responses.  Do you want to reward the top earning affiliate?  Just use your software to find that person and there you go!  The hardest part of hosting an affiliate contests is determining and writing out your rules; the rest is easy.

3 – They Motivate Your Affiliates

The biggest reason why you should give affiliate contests a chance is because of the motivation it provides.  Do you have 50 affiliates, but only 10 that are actively promoting your products?  If so, the others joined your program, so they are interested.  It is just that they may need a push or extra encouragement.  Offer a great prize in a contest and you will see results.  These results should include an improvement in performance, productivity, and sales.

4 – They Improve Your Sales

Speaking of improved sales, they are the greatest benefit of hosting affiliate contents.  As previously stated, contests motivate people.  They like to get rewarded for a job well-done or just have the chance to win something for free.  Your affiliates should put forth the extra effort to market your website or products.  They do so hoping they will be the contest winner.  The result, no matter what, is increased sales for you.

5 – Word Spreads

Online, it is easy to see that home-based workers talk a lot on message boards.  They share moneymaking tips, tricks, and warning with each other.  If your affiliate wins a contest you held, they are likely to talk about it online.  This can help to bring in new affiliates.  No all program managers host contests.  New affiliates will like that they get paid and have a chance to earn additional bonuses.

As you can see, there are many reasons why and benefits to hosting contests for you affiliates.  If you haven’t started yet, give it a try.  Chances are you will receive positive feedback from your team members.

If you operate an affiliate program, you should be in close contact with your affiliates.  It is they who help you generate sales.  In some instances, they are the backbone of your company.  Their ability to advertise and sell your products is what leads to increased sales.  These sales, in turn, increase your profits.  That is why good support and help is advised, but how do you get it?  With an online message forum.

As nice as it is to hear that you can and should setup an online message forum, otherwise known as a message board, for your affiliates, why?  What are the benefits?  Continue reading on to find out.

1 – Your Affiliates Can Help Each Other

What is nice about online message boards is that internet users are able to communicate with each other.  Some post a question, suggestion, or a complaint and others can read it.  Not only that, but they can respond with an answer.  If you do not have the time to answer questions from new affiliates, an online message board is your best option.  You created an online community.  Your affiliates will help each other.

2 – It Shows You Are Interested In What They Have to Say

Often times, affiliates feel ignored.  They post a question or make a suggestion to the affiliate manager and never hear a response back.  This is not what you want.  In fact, it may cause affiliates to leave the program.  No one wants to wait days or never get a response.  Having a message board for members, especially one that you visit on occasion, shows that you care about your affiliates.  You are truly interested in what they have to say.

3 – Online Message Boards Are Easy to Setup

When it comes to operating an online message board, you have many options.  The easiest is to head online and search for a software program.  You purchase a program and upload the message board format to your website.  Most cost less than $100 a year.  A few clicks of the mouse here and there and you should be ready to go.  It is very easy to setup a message board.  In fact, if you can operate a functioning affiliate program, setting up a message board will be a walk in the park.  Just make sure your forum settings are set to private and require membership to keep only your affiliates inside.

4 – They Limit Your Work

As previously stated, you should visit your online message board on occasion.  Answer lingering questions affiliates have or join in on discussions that have no responses.  With that said, only 10 minutes a day is enough.  Moreover, since your affiliates are able to provide each other with help and support, it leaves fewer questions for you to answer by phone or email.  It significantly reduces the time and money spend on training or helping new affiliates.

5 – You Can Sticky Posts

Most online forums have posts that stay at the top of the page; these are known as “Sticky,” posts.  You can create your own.  Use these messages to help new affiliates.  Have posts that show affiliates how to navigate the website, get links, and share moneymaking tips.  Better yet, create a post just for frequently asked questions.  Take the most common questions you are asked and answer them.  New affiliates can visit the frequently asked questions section and find the answers to most of their problems, without needing to contact you.

Network Marketing is an excellent way for the “average Joe or Jane” to make an extra income.  This business concept has been around for decades, and it will not disappear any time soon. The reason for its popularity is simple… It Works!  It does however, require lots of work and most importantly, dedication and persistence to get the job done.  The best part is, once you are able to set up a solid network, your business becomes MUCH less time intensive.  Almost like going on “autopilot”.  The key is to get there as fast as possible.

Here are just a couple of tips I have found to be helpful in maximizing your Network Marketing Business:

1. Use your products regularly.  This is Number 1 for a reason, this is the most ignored part of ANY network marketing business.  How do you expect your business to succeed if you will not even use your own products?  It does seem silly to even have to bring this up, but there are many who are not using their own products, and wonder why they are not making any money.  Make a commitment to use your products for a year, and see where your business goes.

2. Educate yourself constantly.  This is very important!  You must rid yourself of negative ideas, sometimes referred to as “stinkin thinkin”.  This can be done in a variety of ways.  I recommend reading at least 15 minutes a day, but try to shoot for 30.  Business and self-help books are a great way to start.  Don’t forget your Multi-level magazines, as they are full of tips and advice.  Lastly, listen to cassette tapes on multi-level tips from top earners in your business.

3.  Spend as much time as possible with your upline.  Your upline should have only one goal in mind, To Help You Succeed!  They are a vast source of knowledge and information.  Mingle with top distributors in your group, or other groups, and ask how they made it.  Most everyone should be more than happy to provide you with excellent tips and advice.

4. Present your products and marketing plan personally to at least one person daily.  Remember above when I said you are going to have to work, well here it is. Now here is the key, the prospects to whom you present your plan, do not have to be yours personally.  Show the plan for your downline, and not only will you create “security” by placing members in your downlines’ downline, it will also give you a boost in your personal income!   I can guarantee if you were to follow this rule for 6 months, you would create a downline with enough width and depth to create an income to sustain you and your family for life.

5.  Care for your downline. An entire book can be written on this topic. Usually, it’s the little things that show you really care.  Try to maintain regular contact, and always praise your distributor’s accomplishments. You can even offer incentives for specific achievements, such as money, travel, recognition, or other rewards, to help motivate your group.

6.  Duplicate yourself by making distributors independent of you.  This will help to multiply your time, thus making you and your group more effective.  Always lead by example. Never stop recruiting, training and retailing.  Remember the KISS formula – “Keep It Simple, Sweety” I know, I know, I changed the last word, but it maintains the meaning.  This can be done my conducting simple, brief, yet dramatic presentations, and teaching your downline to do the same.

7. Create a large customer base.  This is another largely ignored, yet very important, piece of your network marketing business.  Many try so hard to build a huge downline, that they forget how much profit they could also make by selling their products to retail customers.  Some people will just not want to become part of your downline, no matter how great a product/system you may have.  This does not mean they will not be personally interested in your product.  Try to make everyone your customer.  Once you earn their trust, they will come to you more, and perhaps even join your downline later.  Always “leave the door open”, as people’s needs do change.

8.  Focus on your customers needs.  You must give customers more than they expect, and always satisfy your customers complaints immediately.  Try to listen 80% of the time, and talk only 20%.  As stated above, your customers can be a huge source of future referrals and/or business.  You must earn and maintain their trust.  Once you have their trust, you can always ask for referrals, which leads to even more business and a larger downline.

9.  Set daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly goals – and Write Them Down!  You may have heard the expression, “How do you eat an elephant?  One bite at a time.”  Breaking up a larger goal into smaller easily attainable goals, is the key to success.  You cannot just jump to the end, you have to make progress everyday.  Writing them down is another largely ignored, important tip to help you succeed.  A goal is just a “passing thought”, or “wish” until you put it in writing.  That is when it becomes concrete and real.  It is also a great idea to keep a business journal of your daily activities, as it will help you to become more productive and time-conscious.

10.  Get Out There And Do It Now!  All of the knowledge in the world is useless and unprofitable, until you put the most important ingredient of them all in place.  This “secret” ingredient should come as no surprise at all, but this is the #1 reason for failure at anything in life.  It is ACTION!  Remember, knowledge is useless without action.

Following these steps will almost give you immediate results.  Thank you for reading this, and I truly hope this has provided you with valuable information to help you and your business grow and succeed.

Effective business networking is the bringing together of like minded individuals who, through relationship building, become walking, talking advertisements for one another.

Keep in mind that networking is about being bona fide, building trust, and seeing how your relationship can genuinely help others.
1. Always figure out before you even walk into a room, what your specific goals are in attending each networking meeting.  This helps you to pick groups or associations that will help you get what you are looking for.

2. Ask open-ended questions during your networking conversations, questions that ask who, what, where, when, and how. Try to avoid questions that require a simple yes or no response. By using this line of questioning you can open us the discussion and show listeners that you are interested.

3. Become a walking resource centre. When you become known as a strong resource, others remember to turn to you for suggestions, ideas, names of other people, etc. This keeps you at their “top of mind”.

4. Make sure you have your “elevator speech” prepared and know it like the back of your hand. An elevator speech is the commonly known as the response you would give in the amount of time it would take to reach the tenth floor in an elevator. Always rehearse your spiel and be genuine, so that you don’t sound automated when you relay it to someone who asks what you do.

5. Always know what is going on in current affairs, if you don’t feel comfortable just rolling into a spiel when you first meet someone, have a back up topic to break the ice until you do.

6. Never just throw your business card at someone the minute you meet them, you must get to know the person and their business as well as explaining your business before you even contemplate a business card exchange.  Some people will find you rude, pushy and unprofessional which will in turn reflect badly on your business.

7. Always phone or email your new contacts and let them know that you enjoyed meeting them.  If possible mention things that you discussed on a more personal note (i.e. I hope you enjoyed that movie you were going to see that night.) people will come to know you as someone who listens, remembers them and they will form a trust with you.

8. The most important thing to remember is to follow through quickly and efficiently on referrals you are given. When people give you referrals, your actions are a reflection on them. Respect and honor their trust and your referrals will grow exponentially.

Network marketing is a numbers game. The more people you introduce to your opportunity, the more money you’ll make. To start generating a steady stream of traffic to your site, try these 7 creative techniques:

1. Write and Distribute Articles, Reports and Ebooks. Internet users are all interested in one thing – information. Use this to promote your business by creating high quality content and allowing others to reprint it for you. One great way to do this is to distribute a brandable ebook or special report. This is one that a website or list owner can change to include a reference to their website. This doesn’t mean that it looks like they are the publisher, it’s just a way for them to include information on where the ebook was downloaded from and (if applicable) to include their affiliate link for your products and services.

2. Participate in Newsgroups, Forums, and Mailing Lists. There are hundreds of forums online and you can find one for almost any topic imaginable. Most allow you to include a signature line that will be attached to every message. This is a chance for you to advertise your site. Visiting these forums to post thoughtful questions and offer your expertise will mean your signature is viewed by others and will bring you free, targeted traffic. Of course how much traffic you get depends on how often you post and whether your signature makes people want to visit your site. A good approach is to use an ad you’ve had success with elsewhere as your signature.

3. Join Networking Sites to Build your Personal Network. Networking sites are designed to make it easy for people to meet others in their industry and to advertise their products and service. Similar to offline networking events where lots of people come together for the sole purpose of meeting people, online networking sites work the same way.

4. Use Classified Sites and Traffic Exchanges. Classified ad sites and traffic exchanges have gotten a bad reputation, but they really do work if you know how to use them. If you’re promoting a product or service that advertisers can benefit from then they’re a great place to get traffic. Although not very many consumers visit this type of advertising sites, lots of website owners do in order to make sure their ad appears on the site. While there they can’t help but notice other ads and if one catches their attention you’re likely to get a visitor.

5. Run a Contest. People love the prospect of winning something – that’s why a contest can be a great traffic generator. The key is to choose a prize that will attract people from your target audience. If you make the grand prize a new laptop you’ll get entries from everyone who would like to win a new laptop (which is basically every computer user in the world!). Get more targeted traffic by choosing something that your target audience is interested in but wouldn’t mean much to other people. To start promoting your contest do a search in Google for “Contest Directories” and you’ll find lots of places to list your contest for free.

6. Include a Powerful Signature on all Outgoing Email. Every time you send a piece of mail you have the potential to get a visitor to your site. Simply create a “signature” that is automatically added to every outgoing message. Use the signature to briefly explain what you do, give your USP or slogan and add a hyperlink to your site. Once it’s set up you don’t have to think about it again!

7. Try Newsletter Classified Ads. There are lots of newsletter publishers who give classified ads to new subscribers. Although these don’t typically bring a huge response, they can generate some traffic if you offer something with a high perceived value but low price tag. They’re also a great way to test new ads to see which ones get the best response. Once you’ve found a winner use it in a PPC campaign, make it your new email signature, run it as a top sponsor newsletter ad or use it as your forum signature.

A Blog is defined as a journal that is shared online where you can place your hobbies and interests as well as other items. Yet another way to describe blogging is a way to promote items in a way that is simple and easy. In other words it can be used as a form of free advertising for anything that the chosen user is either trying to sell or promote. The blog consists of short paragraphs that tell about your product or ideas.

There are many reasons why a person would want to create their own blog. One of the most popular reasons though is that you can use your blog to promote your business and not spend any money on advertising.  This is a great advantage especially if your business is just starting out and you do not have a lot of start up cash available. It is also good for small businesses, especially home based businesses, to advertise without needing to spend a lot of their income on advertising.

Another great advantage to creating your own blog is that you will come across as an expert on the topic you have chosen. Visitors to your blog will just love the information on your blog and feed on that information. They will think you are a genius to know all that you do. This may sound strange but it’s true.

There are many different blog sites that are available on the internet today. Blogger is one of the most popular of these. In most of the blog sites they will give you a template that you can use to create your site. The most important thing to remember though when creating your blog is you will need to change it daily or even several times a day. Keep the information current and up to date. The more maintenance you perform to your blog the more visitors that will visit.

Also if you create your blog to be SEO compatible, you will attract more visitors to your site. SEO consists of key words that appear on your website that web crawlers attach onto and feed them back to the search engines. The more keywords you have in your blog, the higher the ranking on the search engine will be.

In order to build a blog on a certain topic of interest it is important that you build a reputation. If you are just using it as a shared journal this is fine but for businesses, reputation is very important. Visitors need to know your reputation in order to deem you as an expert in the topic of your blog. Once they deem you as an expert they will keep coming back for more information on your topic.

No matter what reason you create your own blog it is an excellent way to promote yourself or your business.

SEO which is short for Search Engine Optimization is basically a type of web design that uses search engines to drive visitors to your website.  SEO is one of the most important aspects of web design that a business can do. Without it the chances of you getting visitors to your site is next to nil.

So you are asking why you should optimize? Search engines are excellent ways to drive traffic to your sites. Without a proper SEO your site will appear clear at the bottom of the search list. Most businesses have discovered that when they create a SEO rich web site they have been able to cut down their advertising budget. If you do not create your website correctly you will be wasting your time. You need to do a lot of research in order to create an awesome SEO website but it is well worth it in the end.

After you have learned the importance of why you should optimize you need to learn the importance of research. Researching before you even start your website is critical. It can make or break your site. Some of the more critical components in the research stage are planning out your site, making a list of possible keywords, researching your competition and design. All of these are important to the overall success of your site.

Keywords are vitally important because it is what the web crawlers will attach themselves to when they rank you in the search engines. The better the keywords the higher the rank you will get on your search engine. You should begin by making a list of keywords before attempting to add these to your site.

Planning your site is another important aspect of an SEO. You need to consider your target audience. What type of audience are you looking at attracting? The more you focus on your audience the better of you are. Also it is important to make your site user friendly. The easier your site is to navigate the happier your visitors will be.

Next on the importance is checking out your competition. If you fail to do this they will probably outrank you in the search engine. Check out the keywords that they use. Do not use the same keywords as they do but try to use similar words. This just may raise you above your competition.

The final important component of an SEO is the design. Do not over load your webpage with pictures or graphic. Choose a design that will attract your visitors but will not over power them. Also watch the visual graphics and use them sparingly. Save the room for the content.

No matter what business you are promoting in your SEO site if you do not use these important components your site will most likely fail.

SEO is one of the most important concepts of the internet business today. A creative and friendly SEO will appeal to your visitors and as a result they will come back again and again. Creating an effective and friendly SEO is by no means an easy task.

It can be both confusing and frustrating. A lot of people outsource their website as a result. They just do not have the time or energy to create their own website. If they knew of ways to make their SEO both user friendly as well as useful, they may have been able to create their own.

When you are being creative in your website there are several factors you need to consider. Your keywords should be the first step. You need to take careful time and consideration when creating your SEO site. Without your keywords your website will fail because there is nothing for the web crawlers to grab on to.

Also you will need to be creative. The more creative you are the higher on the search engine your site will appear. Make each page unique and different while still maintaining the importance to the site itself. Add graphics to make your SEO site more attractive to users but do not over do it. Add an image possibly with your title. Maybe even a few small graphics placed strategically throughout your site.

Also in part of being creative keep your paragraphs short but sweet. Visitors do not want to read a lot of text all they want is their information and leave. Finally in the “be creative” aspect keep your site as short as possible. The longer the site the less chance the visitor will look completely throughro it.

Make your site user friendly. Avoid if at all possible making links inside of links for one, customers hate this. One link is all you should place in your SEO site. Remember the more user friendly your site is the more visitors you will attract. Also keep the maintenance up on your site. Make sure that you do not have any broken links and your content is up to date. Also remove pages as you need to and add more. The more often you change your site around the happier your visitors will be. I know it sounds strange to place this under the user friendly category but it entails the user friendly aspect.

Remember making your SEO creative and user friendly will attract more visitors to your site. Managing your keywords, graphics and paragraph counts are all important factors of the creation section of creating your SEO site. Also your SEO site will need to be user friendly. When your site is user friendly the more visitors you will attract.

Linking is great if you know what you are doing. If you don’t then you create a huge mess. Linking does work but it has had changes since it first began being used.

The key to using links is using them in moderation. In the past, it was common practice to use thousands of links but as with many other things in the marketing world, limiting the number of links is the best method to use now.

The market today focuses on content not quantity. This is great news since you now have more space on your site and can remove the many links you have that aren’t really producing but you hated to remove them.

When you have a website with several pages, use links to the different pages. All the links will have different content describing the pages. This increases traffic to the site via the different pages and entices the people to browse through the rest of the website too.

Have one of the links to the homepage of your site. Deep linking is using the right link to the specific page on the website. This can be a link from within your site or from another site you have exchanged a link. Use relevant pages of content to link to your pages. Tell the sources of the links you are limiting the links for future sources and this will create others to want to add links to your site before you meet your quotas of links.

Using this method creates excitement from webmasters since you are placing their links on a website with limited links, which decreases their competition for users to select their links on your site. It also states to potential sites wanting to exchange links or add links that you are responsible and caring about the appearance of your site so they want to use the professional site you have created.

This method of business tactics also increases your link popularity and directs more traffic to the pages on your site. It gives you more leverage to ask for higher quality links when you have better traffic and link popularity. Some sites will provide a lower level link when they exchange links, but you are now in a position to ask for a better link.

When you increase the value of your links you are linking to high quality businesses and sites. This is always great for your business and website.

You need to realize that part of this process is sending traffic to other sites. Some people get uncomfortable at this thought, but it will all come back to you a hundred times over. Think of it this way, you are actually building stronger links to your site when you help to raise the rankings of the sites linked to your site as they help to increase your site based on YOUR links.

One of the most common ways to get your website noticed on the internet is to link your site to other websites. With the common practice comes the misusage of the technique. The creation of “link farms” has made search engines take notice of the misusages and set restrictions of the sites using that practice. However, for the sites that use link exchanges properly, they find great results and increased traffic levels.

There are two types of benefits from having links on your website. Getting improved rankings from the search engines and the internet traffic will take notice of your site. When used properly you create an important internet presence.

The classic link exchange or swapping of links is one method. Locate another website with the same or relevant content. Offer to add their link to your site if they allow you to add a link to your site.

Consider paying for incoming links from high ranking websites. This method is frequently used and is very beneficial.

Write articles and post them on other websites with the links to your website. Write content that is clear and concise pertaining to your niche and product.

Publish your articles on websites such as ezines.com with links to your site. Readers love to gain further information and you will be providing a valuable service with your article.

Join an online forum where you post responses and comments. Include links to your site within your signature with every posting. Your comments will become informational posts to create a following based on your expertise and knowledge.

Start your own blogsite with RSS feeds. Submit the blogsite to the search engines and directories for added internet exposure. Remember to link your blogsite to your website. Keep the content up to date with regular postings.

Be prepared to spend time and money for the increased traffic to your site. It takes money to make money even on the internet. Reach out to the internet world population with different techniques to gain their interest.

Target your traffic with each method. You do not want to waste your time on traffic that will not purchase your products and services. Quality traffic it the desire so, be specific with all of your attempts to build your traffic with each link you use.

Keep current on the traffic visiting your site. Add a tracker software application to your site that will help you monitor all the hits and visitors. You need to know what method is working and the ones that are not working. The ones that are not working modify them or delete the links so your site is not cluttered and unprofessional. You only want the highest links on your site.

Creating a SEO Website is a very difficult and time consuming task. A task some people do not wish to take on themselves and as a result look to other companies to build one for them. Getting a company you can trust to do a great job is very important. They must be well versed in SEO as well as other aspects.

1. Does the company offer a 100% SEO Ranking?
Let’s face it if any company offers a 100% ranking they are most likely one to avoid. Most companies do not guarantee 100% ranking because it is almost impossible. While they are building your SEO site, another competitor is building theirs, so there is never a 100% guarantee. When a company offers this look elsewhere.

2. Check with family, friends and coworkers
Ask them for a recommendation on whom they might choose. Maybe they have had an SEO website built recently. If so they will be able to tell you the best companies with the best results.

3. Check the company name on the internet
See if they have positive reviews in building SEO sites. See if other customers would recommend their services. If so you may want to consider going with that company. Another great place to check a company’s reputation is through the Better Business Bureau they will have the most accurate information on the company.

4. Ask for examples
If the company is serious about getting your business they will provide you with samples of other SEO sites they have created for other clients. Look at these closely. Ask the business what the SEO results are on each of these sites. This is one of the most important steps in choosing a company to build your own SEO site.

5. Ask them what they use for keyword ranks
Once you have this you can do a search on the internet. If they do not have a high ranking due to their word choice chances are they are not a company you want building your SEO site.

6. Ask them if they provide subscription service
Do they offer a maintenance package on your website? This is so they can update your site regularly to keep it up at the top of the ranks. If they do not offer this it is a signal to not do business with them.

7. What is the cost?
Although getting a company to build your SEO site can be expensive the less is more technique applies. Even though they may offer a high price for quality does not mean that they will do a proper job on your SEO site. Research around on various prices and reputations before you go with the more expensive business.

SEO is one of the most common forms of internet design that is used today. Businesses use SEO’s to attract visitors to their sites. All SEO’s are certain keywords that you use when creating your website that web crawlers attach to. These web crawlers in turn bring your site up in search engines. Creating SEO success takes a few steps.

1. Key Word Rich
Make sure your article is related keyword rich. Make sure this carries throughout your whole site. The more keyword rich your site is the more places the web crawlers can attach to. These web crawlers (bots) determine where in the ranks of the search engines your site will be found. You must be sure that you do not overdo it though.

2. The title
Make sure your title is clear to understand also keyword rich. The title is one of the most important aspects of creating your SEO site. Your title is the first thing any visitor to your site will see. Without a proper title everything else you do from that point on is pointless. When you are creating your title, consider adding your top keywords. The ones that stand out the most to you will stand out to the visitor.

3. The content
Make sure the content of your site is relevant to your business. If you are creating a website let’s say about cutting hair at home, you need to be sure that you add haircutting tips in your site. If you fail to do this you will turn away your customer. The more relevant content you have on your site the bigger chance your customer will not reject your site.

4. Long Tail keywords
Long Tail keywords are usually 3-4 words in length. They are also the most searched words by most web searchers. The more creative your long tail keywords the more chance of your site being ranked higher in the search engine.

5. Links
Make sure your links are of high quality. This will help produce the most visitors to your site.

6. Easy to navigate
If your site is hard to navigate the visitor will not stay. The more user friendly you make your site the better off you will be. Create sections in your website these sections can then be implemented into new pages which makes it easier the visitor to browse your site.

7. Education
SEO’s are changing every day. Things are being added and others are being removed. Continuing your education in SEO will give you the updated information you will need to make the necessary changes to your site. The importance of continued education on SEO cannot be stressed enough. The more you learn and implement the more visitors you will have.

To get the right type of traffic to your website you need to concentrate on targeting your audience. Sure you can get any kind of traffic but you want targeted traffic with people that will buy your products. You don’t want the website sight-seers. There is a huge difference between obtaining traffic and getting the right types of buying traffic.

You can target your traffic when you understand the market and demographics of the regions you want to reach. This takes some research and time. It is worth the time you dedicate to the search. When you are in business to make money, time is one of the elements that will always work for you if you use it wisely.

Place your advertising on specific sites that reach the audience you seek. You are not wanting to sell to just anyone so be selective with the placement of your ads. You will see a lower amount of traffic when you change how and where you advertise for a short time yet you will see increased sales from the new methods.

Use advertising with higher quality content. What is appealing to the non-buyer user’s wont’ be appealing to the people interested in purchasing your products. Change how you word or phrase your content. Add details of the product. The people wanting to buy already know what they want to tell them in the content exactly what you have to offer them.

Place the advertisements on content based sites. Use sites with relevant content on a similar product but is not a competitor. People viewing that site will see your ad and click on it to find your product. Once again, be specific in the detail of the ad contents.

Use different forms of the keywords and phrases. Not everyone has the same vocabulary. The expansion of the terminology increases your traffic and the search engines will also see you have expanded the terms. They will increase your rankings, which then place you higher in the search results thus increases your traffic.

Step out of the box and think like the potential customer. When you start to think as a customer instead of a business owner, you increase your targeted audience with your advertising. Too many businesses make the mistake of sticking with the same terms since they feel it is safer even if they aren’t getting the volume of traffic. Take a chance to make changes with your advertising to reach a higher number of people.

Advertising is an ever changing technique. Avoid falling into a rut by using methods everyone else uses and that have become stale. Be inventive and you will see a difference with your marketing, traffic, and sales.

A black hat SEO is an unethical way for a person to get their website to appear higher on search engines. These blackhat SEO’s will usually follow the following characteristics.

First of all and most important it breaks the search engine rules and regulations. Second it will create a bad user experience. Finally it will unethically present content in both visual and non visual to the search engine web crawlers.

Black hat SEO’s at one time were legal but after too many people began to overuse it and therefore it became frowned on by Search engines. Now if you are caught using Black Hat SEO’s it may be a short term solution to a problem but it will also get you penalized from the search engine.

These penalties for using a black hat SEO can be harsh and include but not limited to banning from all search engines. There are ways to avoid creating a black hat website and if you follow them correctly will save you a lot of problems in the future.

1. Be careful to not stuff your keywords
-Using a lot of keywords in your site and nothing else will get you in hot water with the search engines. You need to learn how to place your keywords properly to avoid this. If you fluff your articles with a lot of keywords yes, it will increase your chances of ranking higher on the search engine but only temporarily.

2. Avoid using invisible text
-Invisible text consists of putting keywords into your site in white with a white background. This invisible text is hidden from the customer but will attract the web crawler to rank your search engine higher. This is not a good practice as it results in a black hat SEO and will get you banned from the search engines.

3. Do not use doorway pages
-A doorway page is literally just a fake page that is used to attract the web crawlers. The customers themselves will never see this page. This doorway will trick the web crawler to rank your business higher but again, this will only be temporary.

As you can see black hat SEO’s do sound tempting but a person must know the consequences from using them which at times can be very harsh. They only help you temporarily but will cause you bigger problems for a long time to come. They will help you get higher rankings in the search engines but they are very unethical.

If you wish to run a legitimate business you need to avoid black hat SEO’s because they will taint your company in the long run. Run your business right and do not fall into the unethical practice of running a black hat SEO website.

SEO’s are an important online business technique and it is not only for big businesses as common believe. Any business large or small can use an SEO to promote their business website. Knowing how to implement an SEO into your small business is an important thing to learn.

Researching is an important part of creating your Search Engine Optimization. Just like anything in life without proper research your small business SEO site can and probably will fail. Start your research process by writing your goals down as what you expect to get out of your website. While writing down your goals begin to think about your keywords.

Keywords are very important in size of internet business site. Once you have your goals written down review them. As you review them pull out words that stand out to you. These can be the starts of the keyword phase. Start writing other keywords down keeping your visitor as well as common words in mind. If you come up with an unusual word and still wish to use it, use it sparingly. Usually web site creators advise you against using unusual words as key words.

Next you will want to research your competition. Pay attention to the key words that they use to gain the traffic. Try to avoid using these but you are able to create similar ones. The more you do not copy your competitors the better chance you have of rising above them in the search engine. Finally in your website research process, consider your design. For a small business you need to be sure that your design will attract customers. A simple design that does not contain a lot of graphics is most often recommended.

Even though research is the most important aspect of creating a small business SEO site there are a few other tips you can consider. First of all and probably the most important is make sure your keyword is in your title. This way the web crawlers can attach themselves to the title. Also your keyword should appear throughout the content of your site. Be advised though not to go overboard. If you do you may fall into the unethical SEO called black hat. Also make sure your Meta tags are placed in the appropriate places. Meta tags are slowly losing their popularity in the last year so it’s your choice if you choose to use them or not.

No matter what your business size, an effective SEO website is important. The more user friendly and attractive the companies make their websites, especially small businesses, the more visitors will come. Also you need to be aware of keywords. The more keywords you can use without over doing it the better you are.

When you are first starting out in a business and you create your very first website it can be a difficult task, especially if you want your website to be noticed. The key to getting your new website noticed is by making your site SEO friendly. SEO simply means Search Engine Optimization and is the way that search engines such as Google look for keywords within your website to produce results.

In order for your website to be at the top of the search engine list you need to provide as many keywords as possible that the web crawlers can attach themselves onto. Here are 5 simple steps that you can create a SEO to get you great results.

1. Be creative in your Keyword research
-This is the number one most important rule in building an SEO Friendly website. Before creating your keywords, search through the search engines and see what words your competition is using. You will also need to make sure that your keywords are unique to your business. If you are still unsure of what keywords you should use for your business there are sites available to assist you, like Word Tracker for example.

2. Make your site easy to use
-Make sure both people and search engines can use your site easily. The best way to achieve this is to plan your site before you build it. When you do this be sure you have included plenty of vital sitemaps which should be in HTML as well as XML format.

3. Be sure that your content for your site is relevant
-The content of your website is the second most important part of creating a successful SEO.  Your content should pertain to the title, description, and tags. This will allow you to control where in the list your site will appear. The better your content the higher you appear.

4. Make sure you add key rich keywords and tags
-To assure that you rank high on the search engine list you need to make sure your keywords appear in the title pages, description, and keyword tags. You need to be sure that the content of your body contains keywords.

5. Make sure each page of your site is unique
-It is very important to avoid using duplicate information on all of the pages of your site. Make sure each page has its own title but also keep your keywords in the title. Add new pages frequently to target new members. Also be sure to keep an eye on your competition to keep your pages updated to keep you above them.

Creating an SEO friendly website can be difficult and confusing. If you follow these few simple steps you will have your website up and SEO friendly in no time.

Creating an SEO can be very confusing as well as complicated. If your SEO is not created properly, you will not get recognized as much in the search engines. Avoiding some of the more common mistakes can help you get noticed and possibly even get your internet marketing at the top of the list.

1. Avoid targeting the wrong keywords
-This is the most common SEO mistake that is even made by the experts. This usually occurs when you are trying to create more descriptive keywords that describe your website but the words you use are not the words that most people search for. You need to be sure to choose the correct SEO keywords as it is one of the most important factors in creating your SEO. You can either make or, worse yet, break your SEO campaign by this one simple mistake. There are software tools available that can help you create your keywords. One of the most popular is Website Keyword suggestion.

2. Do not ignore your title tag
-Leaving out your title tag is another common mistake that is also made by the experts. This is the most important area of your SEO to have your keyword. This will show up as the title of your website in the search engines.

3. Using a flash website that does not contain HTML
-A flash website may appear appealing to you but it is not appealing to users, or even search engines for that matter. If you still prefer to use a flash website be sure that you include an HTML version of the site.

4. Using Java Script Menus
-Search engines do not recognize Java Scripts and therefore should be left out. If you do happen to have certain portions of your website that do contain Java Script you will want to create a site map.

5. Do not forget Consistency and Maintenance
-Against popular belief you cannot create an SEO and forget about it as it will not last forever. If you want your website to continue to be popular you will need to provide both consistency and maintenance regularly. One important aspect of this is keeping an eye on your competition and changing your keywords accordingly.

6. Do not concentrate too much on your Meta Tags
-Meta tags are becoming a thing of the past and therefore it is better to begin leaving them out for best results.

7. Do not use only images for your headline
-Search engines do not primarily search for images so avoid these at all costs. If you still wish to use an image as a headline be sure to add keywords to your title as well. This will improve your chances of having your site noticed.

8. Do not ignore your URL’s
-If you have a URL in your title you will then have an edge over your competitors. This is often left out but is a great way to get your site seen by more people as it ranks higher in the search engine.

9. Avoid backlink spamming
-Make sure your backlinks are of quality and not just spam as a way to add more keywords. This will only lose your search engine rank.

10. Avoid having a lack of related keywords in your content
-The more related keywords you have in your content the higher on the search engine you will appear. Make sure though that you place them only in places that will make sense. You can even bold or highlight them to make them stick out. If you do this you will improve your rank on the search engine.

Realizing these simple but common mistakes and how to correct them can help you create an awesome and well noticed SEO.

When creating an SEO website, keywords are one of the most important parts to creating a site that ranks high on the search engine. The keyword is what the web crawlers attach on to and use to show your business on the search engines. Although keywords are the most important component to any SEO website it is the one that is most often neglected or used in the wrong manner. There a few things that you can do to make your keywords work and stand out.

1. Your target audience
-Who will your target audience be? Think about your website and the type of people you wish to attract. Also you will need to decide what the primary purpose of your website will be. Both of these will come in handy when creating your keywords in your SEO. They will also become one of the most important factors to consider.

2. Make a list
-Write down a few words that you think people might type into a search engine. Make sure these words relate to your business. Be creative when you are making your list. The more keywords you come up with the better off you will be when you begin to create your SEO website. There is software that is available that will aide you in creating your keyword list. Also when you are creating your keyword list think back to rule number one and consider your audience and the purpose of your site.

3. Think about the pages
-Think about the pages that you will be using in your SEO site. Each page will need its own distinct three to four word title or phrase that is related to your site. As you create your page titles you will need to include the title of your site as well somewhere in the tag.

4. Using your keywords    Your keywords need to be used throughout each page of your site. These keywords need to be put in sensible places to prevent a black hat SEO. A black hat SEO is unethical and can get you banned from search engines.

5. Be creative
-It definitely takes a lot of work to create your keywords but well worth it in the long run. The better your keywords, and the more creative, the better your search results to visitors will be. So being creative is a very important tool.

There are some additional tips that can be used when creating your keywords for your SEO site. First of all yes it is important to be creative but you will also need to be choosy at the same time. Second is to check out your competition. Try not to choose words that might appear to be too competitive and therefore will lower your rankings on the search engines.

Finally if you wish to use any unusual keywords on your SEO site use them sparingly. If it is an unusual word then the possibility of it being searched is very low. If you remember to be creative and persistent you will have a great SEO site in no time.

Creating a blog is a great way for anyone to share their life experiences and even advertise their business. To date there are no actual code of ethics developed for bloggers to follow but there are three common sense ethic codes that anyone should follow while they are running their blog posts. These are the code of ethics that will prove you as a trustworthy blog owner.

1. Fair and Honest:

You need to be fair and honest to your followers. You need to make sure all the information you provide is honest without adding any false information. When you are providing facts you need to make them distinct, true, and easy to follow. Do not attempt to distort your facts, visitors can read this right away and as a result, you will lose visitors. If you happen to provide any information, in your site that may appear to be false; you need to provide your reader with factual information to back up your statement. If you are adding pictures to your blog add captions underneath to explain to the reader about the picture. Fair and Honest are two of the most important components of the bloggers code of ethics.

2. Harm of others:

When you are creating a blog topic on a very controversial issue avoid using any ones names or places. This will protect you from any lawsuits and also from hurting visitors’ feelings. A good motto for this code of ethic would be, say to others what you would want them to say about you. You also need to be sure that you protect a person’s privacy. Invading a person’s privacy is rude as well as intrusive. If you do not want someone doing it to you then do not do it to others. A great way to avoid violating this blog code of ethic is to avoid using names or places if it all possible. If it is unavoidable try to use as much damage control as possible.

3. Be Accountable:

You need to accept the consequences that may come with your blog. If you have made a mistake in any of your postings admit it right away, do not try to avoid it. Everyone makes mistakes and if you own up to yours you will be more respected in the readers eyes.

If someone happens to question your information on your blog open up a discussion with the person. Try to see why they feel the way they do and if they prove to be right, apologize to the person and admit that yes you are right I did make a mistake. If you are not accountable for your blog you will be in violation of the blog code of ethics and as a result, you will lose followers.

All of these blog codes of ethics are common sense but also the most neglected parts of Blogging. Following a basic code of ethics will enable you to be trustworthy blogger to your visitors.

Advertising on the internet is constantly evolving. There seems to be so many methods to gain the website traffic that is becomes a challenge or confusing to know exactly how to advertise your website.

One of highest forms of advertising is the banner ads. You see them everywhere. They are on the search engines. They are on personal websites. They are on blogsites. You cannot go to any site without seeing a banner ad. For this reason they have become one of the widest methods to entice the internet traffic. They are very beneficial and low cost when approached properly.

Banners ads are based on brand recognition. They are specifically designed for certain products and services. The text within the ads describes in a limited area the detailed information to attract the users to click on the ad then to be driven to the website. It makes locating the products and services quite simple.

The banners are targeted at certain traffic. This helps to reduce the users that are not truly interested or going to purchase from the website. The targeted traffic is the true cause of using banner ads. Targeted traffic means higher sales and higher profits.

There is not a fixed banner advertisement campaign as the methods are so wide in variety. You can use Google AdWords and Overture to gain further insight on the forms of campaigns to use that are more effective.  Google and Overture have tools to enhance your site and advertising campaign.

The sites help to locate the right terms and phrases to include in your advertising campaign. With the right words and terms you will get the traffic you are seeking. Without them, you are wasting time and effort.

Here are some tips to increase your efforts:

1. Choose an attention grabbing content for your banner. With the limited amount of text space you need to have superior content on the ad.

2. Add pictures on the ad to give the users a visual of the product. Seeing is believing in the eyes of the consumer.

3. Avoid using banners larger than 5K. The bigger banner is not going to gain more traffic and seems to clutter the sites they are posted on.

4. Avoid using too many different colors and fonts. You want to appear professional, not like a kid with a new box of crayons testing out every color.

5. Use the “call to action” advertising method of “click here for more exciting information.” Take charge and direct the users to click on your ad.

6. Keep your ad content readable. Make it motivational but not too cluttered with information. You only want to peak their interest to click the ads.

7. Test the links of banner to verify it drives the traffic to your site.

3. Publish your own ezine with interesting facts and information about your website and business. You can include promotions, discounts, and surveys to entice the traffic to visit your site. Most ezine articles allow the writers to include their URLs and links within the article. The added information allows the users to click on the links to be directed to the websites.

4. Publish articles on other websites with relevant products and services. Include a link to your site in your signature as well at the end of the article. Make the title catchy to make the readers want to click on your article. Add a hook in the article to really grab their attention.

5. Advertise in ezines with banner advertisements directed at your target audience. Run the ads at least three times to get the traffic. To increase your exposure, advertise about seven times so your audience sees your ads more. Add a tracking system to your ads so you know the number of clicks, where the traffic was derived from, when they clicked on your ad, and to see how the advertising is working or where you may need to modify the ad content.

6. Place ads on other websites. Research the sites relevant to your business and products. Contact the site about adding an ad to their site. They will generally allow you to place an ad especially if you offer link exchanging (your link on their site and their link on your site.)

Do you work as an internet marketer?  Whether you are a marketer for hire or if you work only on your own websites, you will likely turn to article directories.  Article directories, like EzineArticles.com, are a great way to generate traffic to a product, service, or website.  To get full use of article directories, you must also rely time management.

Article directories are large websites where articles are shared.  These articles are written by internet users and uploaded for free.  It is not uncommon for large article directories to carry hundreds of thousands of articles.  Many use article directories for fun or to share an opinion, but they are a good internet marketing tool.

As an internet marketer, you can benefit from submitting content to article directories.  They help to generate traffic.  To get started write or hire a freelance writer to compose an article for you.  This article should be related to what you are marketing.  Do you want to increase page views for a dog grooming website?  If so, write articles on the subject.

When submitting articles to directories, you will find a link or resource box.  Many authors write a summary of their career or their interests.  You can use this to generate traffic for a website or even a blog.  Create a catchy phrase such as “Click here for more dog grooming tips.”  By making your links clickable, interested readers will click.

Not only do article directories generate links at the end of an article, but they do so through distribution.  Many directories make your articles available for use.  This means your work may appear on other websites.  Yes, this may be a big turn off at first, but all links and resource boxes must stay intact.  This means that your link will still be present and clickable.  In a way, this results in marketing without extra steps on your part.

When submitting articles to article directories, some content will do better than others.  As previously stated, compose articles that are inline with the website, product, or service you intend to market.  These articles should useful to read, not outright advertisements, and contain relevant keyword phrases.  Most importantly, always include a link.

So, where does time management come in?

Submitting content to article directories with links is not the only internet marketing method.  In fact, it is not the only step you should take.  There are many other ways to market a website, product, or service online and you should do so.  For that reason, divide your time wisely.  One day you can submit an article to an article directory, the next you can host a contest on your website, then buy advertisements, and so forth.

Article directories are a great way to generate interest and clicks, but you will typically see short bursts of traffic.  This is because article directories like to focus their attention on newer articles.  These are articles that will appear on the front page of a website or high in search rankings.  For that reason, you want to spread your time and your content out evenly, meaning you have to manage your time.

So, what is the best way to manage your time when using article directories as an internet marketing tactic?

It is best to submit articles on a weekly basis.  For example, submit one article one week, two the next week, and then follow with one more.  This will keep new fresh content with your website links appearing and on the front page or at the top of search results.  Although you want to submit articles on a weekly basis, you can write them all at once and save until ready for submission.

By combining time management and article directories together, you will find one great internet marketing tactic.  By submitting weekly content, as opposed to all at once, you will get new readers and hopefully more page views and sales.

Pros and Cons of Buying Time Management Software for Internet Marketing…

Do you work as an internet marketer?  If so, your ability to manage time is important to your success.  Not only that, it will directly impact the income you generate.  For that reason, make sure you have a good sense of time management.

Unfortunately, good time management is not a skill that we all have.  If you are known for getting distracted easily, procrastinating, or falling behind schedule, you may be looking for help.  For some, that help comes in the form of time management software, but is it right for you?

The Pros of Time Management Software

Time management software can promote organization.  It comes in a number of different formats.  Regardless of that format, organization is promoted.  You should receive specific lists and categories to choose from.  For example, you may have the option of creating a daily to-do list, the option of outlining weekly projects, and more.

Time management software is installed right on your computer.  Since time management software is installed on your computer and since you work from your computer, it is easy for you to access.  In fact, you can always leave the program running in the background for quick access and easy loading.

The number of choices you have.  As previously stated, time management software comes in a number of different formats.  Different programs have different features.  Look for those you can benefit from.  Do you work as an internet marketer for hire?  If so, you can benefit from a program that stores the contact information of your clients, as well as links that information to projects.  When buying a software program, only spend money on features you will use.

The Cons of Time Management Software

Time management software costs money.  In fact, it can be expensive.  On average, a time management software program costs between $50 and $100.  You may find programs for sale for more and less.  If you are shopping on a budget, compare prices, but don’t forget value.  A cheap software program is nice, but not if it is loaded with features you do not want or cannot use.

Time management software isn’t always a good value for the money.  As previously stated, time management software is expensive and it may come loaded with features you will never use.  The perfect solution to this problem is programs you can customize for an affordable fee; however, they are hard to come across.  As a cheaper alternative, create your own spreadsheet.  In fact, many software programs use spreadsheets.  The only thing missing is the countdown clock that most include to alert you to an impending deadline.

Time management software can be difficult to use.  When buying time management software, you should receive a detailed user’s manual.  This guide will show you how to use the program, but you may still have questions.  Not only that, if a learning curve is hard, you waste time.

Time management software can become a distraction.  As previously stated, some programs have a difficult learning curve.  As opposed to being simple, learning to use a program can now become a huge distraction.  It is ironic, as time management software is designed to improve your productivity.  That is only if you know how to use it.  For that reason, read reviews online.  If users state a product is hard to use, examine other options.

Is internet marketing one of the many tasks you complete as a webmaster?  If so, you may feel overwhelmed.  After all, your to-do list may be two pages or longer!  So, how do you manage your time without feeling overwhelmed and worked to the max?  You do so by prioritizing your internet marketing tasks.

As nice as it is to hear that you can and should prioritize your internet marketing tasks, you may be wondering why.  For starters, prioritizing has its own benefits.  It lets you know what you need to do and how.  Items are often categorized in order based on importance.  In terms of internet marketing, this can make it easier to complete your daily duties, as well as in an effective manner.

What is ideal about prioritizing your internet marketing, aside from improving productivity, is your options.  Since it is your to-do list, you can prioritize its contents however you see fit.  For tips and suggestions on how to prioritize your tasks for the ultimate results, please continue reading on.

Before focusing on how you can prioritize your internet marketing tasks, make sure you can.  If you work as an internet marketer for hire, you work for others.  You may be provided with a specific list of duties.  This means that you might not have a choice, as these tasks may already be prioritized and in order for you.  However, if you do have freedom:

Start with something new.  Many internet marketers put off certain tasks, especially those they have yet to try.  This is mostly due to a fear of failure.  Yes, if an internet marketing campaign falls short, you lose money and time.  But, you also lose money by not taking the risk.  So, get your to-do list started with a new internet marketing technique you have yet to try.

Start with something you know works.  As previously stated, you want to try new internet marketing tactics, but that doesn’t mean you have to start your day with them.  If you want to ensure your time will translate into money, start with marketing tactics you know work.  For example, have you seen an increase in website traffic due to article directory submissions?  If so, start your day producing content to be distributed.

Start with something that is easy.  Internet marketing tactics come in all different formats.  Some are easier than others.  To get the ball rolling, start with a tactic that you know is easy.  For example, do you post messages on a related forum with an advisement in your signature?  If so, this is easy.  Starting with an easy task not only gets the ball rolling, but it can also help you get into your groove.

Start with something that is hard.  Do you have a hard marketing method on your to-do list?  For example, do you want to write two new pages of copy for your website?  If so, you may find this hard, as it is time consuming.  For that reason, move this step to the top of your to-do list.  When you get the harder tasks out of the way, you can breathe a sigh of relief and stop ferreting about it.

In conclusion, there are many ways to prioritize a to-do list.  Your choice should depend on your own personal preferences.  With that said, look for an approach that is easy to work with and one that improves productivity.

Do you do internet marketing?  Whether you sell your skill as an internet marketer to other webmasters or if you market your own website, blog, product, or service, time management is key.  After all, your income depends on how much marketing you are able to accomplish.

Since time management is an important component of generating income as an internet marketer, you may be looking for helpful tips.  Yes, there is time management software available for sale, but this software is not only expensive, but it can be another source of distraction.  For that reason, rely on simpler tools, like a spreadsheet.

So, why should you use a spreadsheet for time management as an internet marketer?

It is free.  You should already have a spreadsheet program on your computer.  Whether you use Microsoft Word or Microsoft Words, one will be available to you. Since it is free to use and already installed on your computer, why not use one?  When properly used, this free tool will produce the same results as many expensive time management software programs.

It is easy.  Spreadsheets are designed to promote organization.  For that reason, it is easy for you to use one to your advantage.  Get started with a blank spreadsheet.  Fill in the tasks you need to complete on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis.  In fact, that leads to another benefit of using spreadsheets as a time management tool, your options.

You can create a spreadsheet however you want.  With that said, make sure your guide is always organized, easy to print, or easy to read on the computer.  Since spreadsheets are organizational tools, do not let them create more problems.  Take a few extra minutes to complete yours.

As previously stated, you can make a spreadsheet anyway you see fit.  Daily spreadsheets are ideal for going into great detail.  If you end up completing your tasks, but rushing at the last minute, you need to change your daily and hourly work habits.  The best way is with a daily spreadsheet schedule.  With a daily spreadsheet, you can do set blocks of time.  For example, in the columns record time blocks, such as 9am to 10am.  In the rows underneath, write what you want to do in that time frame.

If you are marketing your own website, as opposed to marketing for hire, your spreadsheet can be less in detail.  For example, do you want to write five articles for article directories?  Instead of writing the titles of each article, just write “Write five articles and submit.”  Once you have completed those articles, cross them from your list.  Being general lets you use the same spreadsheet each week, which is ideal for creating a common, productive schedule.  Just save a copy on your computer and print when the day arrives.

In addition to daily spreadsheet schedules, weekly are popular as well.  If you are okay with managing your time, but have only a few problems, a weekly schedule may work. Remember, if you have difficulties managing your hour-to-hour day, a daily spreadsheet is recommended.

When creating a weekly internet marketing spreadsheet schedule, start with the columns.  Write each day in a separate column.  This may require 2 printable pages.  In the rows underneath, highlight the tasks you want to complete.  In addition to being generalized, you can go into further detail.  For example, record the names of the articles you want to write or which directories you intend to submit to.

To use a spreadsheet as a time management tool, it is important to use it.  For that reason, print your sheet.  Having a detailed to-do list in the form of a spreadsheet right by your side will be easier.  In fact, regularly having to bring it up on your computer screen can technically be considered a distraction.  Remember, when looking to improve your time management skills, even the smallest distractions can cost you time and money.

Internet Marketers:  Tasks Ideal for Outsourcing…

Are you a webmaster who uses your website to generate income?  Whether you do so by selling a product, a service, or with the use off affiliate links, page views are important to your success.  The more page views your website receives, the more your earnings potential increase.  For that reason, you may not classify yourself as an internet marketer, but you need to become one.

As previously stated, the goal is to market a website, product, or service to consumers.  This involves taking many steps. There are many common and successful internet marketing methods.  In fact, you may be overwhelmed with your options.  The more you advertise a website, product, or service, the more interest is generated.  So, you may want to implement each internet marketing step you learn. What if you don’t have time to implement them all?  Rely on outsourcing.

Before focusing on internet marketing tactics that are ideal for outsourcing, it is important to examine the pros and cons.  For starters, hiring an outsourced worker will allow you to get more done.  Remember, the more you market a website, the more money you can earn.  Aside from increasing your earning potential, outsourcing also gives you freedom.  This is ideal if you don’t want to spend 24 hours a day in front of the computer.

As beneficial as outsourcing can be, it too has its cons.  For example, you must find a qualified individual to help.  If you hire someone who is unfamiliar with internet marketing, the job may be done wrong.  This not only wastes time, but money.  So remove this as an issue; only hired those who are qualified to do the job and properly.

As for what internet marketing projects you can outsource:

The writing of web content.  Web content is important to internet marketing and it can be used multiple ways.  Updated websites with fresh content keeps readers coming back.  Hire a web content writer to write pages for your website.  Whether they write product reviews or keyword articles to drive in organic search engine traffic, they are helping you market your website.

When hiring a web content writer, look for an individual who has experience writing combination keyword and content articles.  This means the articles will be interesting to read, but liked by search engines.  Always review content before placing it on your website.  Ensure it is professional and original.

Submitting to article directories.  Do you like to write your own web content?  If so, you may not need a web content writer, but someone to help you spread your content.  Submitting articles to article directories with the use of back links can improve traffic and sales.  The submission process is easy, but tedious.  So, hire someone to submit your content for you.  This is very affordable, as some will submit for less than $2 an article.

The writing of blog posts.  If your main goal is to generate traffic to a website where you sell a product or service, rely on the use of a blog.  Since blogs are updated often, they tend to accumulate more readers.  So, hire a blog writer.  This is cheaper than hiring a content writer, as blog posts are shorter and easier to compose.

When hiring a blog writer, provide clear instructions.  Blogs are usually casually in tone.  If you want your writer to take a professional approach, state so.  Since the goal is to drive traffic to your website, be sure links are included in each post.

In addition to outsourcing small tasks to qualified workers, you have the option of hiring a professional internet marketer.  This approach will work, but it can be very costly.  It is more cost effective to do your own internet marketing and outsource on occasion.

As an important side note, if you are employed as an internet marketer, you market for other webmasters, not yourself.  Yes, you can still outsource tasks, but know the risk.  Your internet marketing business name will be responsible for all work submitted.  You can suffer serious consequences from using an out sourcer that plagiarizes their work.

Do you work from home as an internet marketer?  Whether webmasters pay to access your marketing skills or if you market your own personal websites, time management is important to your success.  In terms of time management, your ability to stay focused and on task is crucial.

So, how can you stay focused and on task as an interenet marketer?

Avoid online forums.  Unfortunately, it is easy to market a website, product, or service online.  With the use of signatures, posting in an online forum can be considered a form of marketing.  However, use your best judgment.  Choose message boards inline with what you need to market, such as a pet board for pet products.  Set aside a specific block of time for marketing on forums, like 30 minutes.  Stop when your 30 minutes are up.

Avoid instant messaging programs.  If you are marketing a product or service you sell, you should not need to have an instant messaging program open on your computer.  The only exception would be if you are internet marketer for hire who uses instant messages for business purposes.  Other than that, do not socialize on instant messaging programs.  In fact, avoid them at all costs.

Avoid surfing the internet.  Since internet marketing relies on the use of the internet, you will need to use it.  There is a difference between surfing the internet for internet marketing ideas and viewing random, but interesting pages.  For example, search online for internet marketing forums where the latest tips are shared, but avoid other websites, such as those for news, gossip, and sports.  View these websites on your own time.

Avoid checking your personal email.  One of the biggest time wasters in the day of an internet marketer is email.  If you are currently using one email account for personal use and business use, stop immediately.  An email account just for business enables you to check your email throughout the day, but without getting distracted with personal messages.

Let everyone know you work.  Unfortunately, not everyone understands the concept of working from home.  Some actually think it is nothing more than a clever disguise to be lazy and watch television all day.  This means you may find friends, family members, or neighbors calling or stopping by for a visit.  Do not let this happen.  Instead, let everyone know you do work a normal job, just from home.  Also make it known that you will not be available during work hours unless for emergencies.

Create a to-do list.  Having a daily to-do list by your side is one of the best ways to stay focused and on task as an internet marketer.  Why?  Because you have a specific guide to follow.  For example, your list for the day may include marketing on message boards, writing search engine optimized content, and so forth.  As you complete each task, cross it from your to-do list.  A to-do list not only serves as a helpful guide, but as a source of motivation.

Create a detailed schedule.  If you have time management problems, a simple to-do list may not be enough.  If that is the case, create a detailed schedule.  A schedule is essentially a to-do list with times attached.  Set aside blocks of time for specific internet marketing tactics, such as message board marketing or article directory submission.  Keep an eye on the clock.  When you have a deadline, you are likely to increase your productivity and stay better focused.

Know the consequences of not staying on task.  It is nice knowing how you can stay on task as an internet marketer, but you need to know what the consequences are for not.  Unfortunately, many make the mistake of believing they will just fall behind.  Yes, this will happen, but there is also the money aspect.  Time that is wasted, as opposed to spent marketing a website with affiliate links, products, or services for sale translates into money lost.  Essentially the more marketing links you distribute online, the money you can make.

Get More Done as an Internet Marketer:  Choose Hours Carefully

Do you run a website that sells a product, a service, or generates income through affiliate links?  If so, internet marketing is a task you must complete.  Unfortunately, internet marketing isn’t something you can do and be done with.  To successfully generate income overtime with your website, you need to develop a lasting and long-term internet marketing plan.

When creating an internet marketing plan, there are many questions you need to answer.  First, start with the large ones.  These include how you want to market your website, products, or services.  If you are new to internet marketing, research your options.  You will find they are unlimited.  Once you have developed a plan of action, such as buying advertisements, using article directories, link exchanges, and so forth, there is another important question you need to answer.

When should you work as an internet marketer?   What should your work schedule hours be?

Before outlining ways for you to carefully choose your work hours, know that you may not have a say in the matter. Internet marketing and making money online can be a full-time job, but not everyone uses it as such.  If you work part-time, your hands may be tied, in terms of flexibility.  However, if you are a full-time home based worker, please continue reading on for helpful tips.

Work when you work the best.  We all have grooves that we get into.  These are times when we work the best, when we come up with the best ideas, or when we are the most productive.  Some are early birds, rising and ready to work before the sun is even up.  Others are night owls, working into the early morning hours.  What type of person are you?  Choose to work when you produce the best results.

Work when you have few interruptions.  Are you a parent?  Can you work when the kids are not home?  If your children attend school, work during the day.  If your children are home on vacation, there are benefits to readjusting your hours to late nights or early mornings.  When you limit or eliminate your interruptions, you can work continuously.

Work when you have few distractions.  Unfortunately, interruptions can’t always be eliminated as a problem, especially if you are a parent.  You can, however, eliminate distractions.  Do you have a favorite television show that you watch weekly or do you have houseguests every Tuesday night?  If so, now is not the time to work.  Readjust your schedule, even if just for one day a week, so that you can work without distractions.

When choosing what hours to work on internet marketing, many run into a common problem.  That problem is not having enough hours in the day.  That is why it is important to create a schedule.  You cannot be expected to market your website a hundred different ways in one day, so spread the tasks throughout the week or month.  And, in dire times hire a professional to outsource your work to.  Freelance web content writers and graphic designers can help you market your website for an affordable fee.

As previously stated, you may not have the luxury of choosing your hours to work on internet marketing.  If that the case, take anytime that you can get.  Remember, the more you market your product, service, or affiliate links, the more income you will generate.

Do you work from home as an internet marketer?  If so, your ability to manage time is important to your success.  When marketing a website where you sell a product, service, or have affiliate links displayed, traffic can translate into dollars.  So, the more you market the more money you make, but you must have good use of your time.

In terms of improving time management, there are many available approaches.  Some rely on the use of to-do lists, others use desktop calendars, time management software programs, alarm clocks, and schedules.  Each of these approaches are nice, but try a weekly internet marketing schedule.  Chances are, you will like the results.

Before seeing samples on how you can create an internet marketing weekly schedule, it is important to know why.  There are hundreds of ways to market or advertise a website online.  You want to implement each of these steps, but it is impossible for you to do so in one day.  That is why you need to rely on time management.  It allows you to effectively work and produce quality results, which should translate into income.

The first step in creating a weekly internet marketing schedule is to decide how you want to make your schedule.  Three options include by hand, in Microsoft Word or Works, or with a spreadsheet.  Each method has its pros and cons.

When creating a weekly schedule by hand, you write everything out.  This means that you are more familiar with all the items on your list.  You will still need to consult it, but many like seeing their own handwriting.

When creating a schedule in Microsoft Word, you type as opposed to write.  This is great if you have poor handwriting.  If you quickly write a schedule, you may later be left wondering what it was you wrote.  You don’t have this problem with typed schedules and to-do lists.

When creating a schedule in a spreadsheet, you gain access to one of the greatest organizational tools.  Spreadsheets are designed to promote organization, so your schedule will be organized.  As previously stated, typed documents are easier to read and reference than handwritten ones.

If you opt for creating a weekly internet marketing schedule by hand, you can create a list or a chart.  A list may be easier.  Start with large headings for each day of the week.  Underneath each heading, write a task.  For example, do you want to write five pages of web copy on Monday?  If so, add that underneath the day’s heading.

If you opt for creating a weekly internet marketing schedule in Microsoft Word, you can also use a chart or a list.  When opting for a chart, you are technically inserting a table.  Have five columns for each day of the week.  You can have as many rows as you want.  The more tasks you intend to complete each day, the more rows you need.  Hit enter to make each row larger in size.  Enter in your daily tasks or print and handwrite.

If you opt for an internet marketing schedule in a spreadsheet, you are provided with less freedom.  This does, however, make creating a schedule easier.  Once again, create a total of five headings in each column. This is for the days of the weeks.  In the row, type in what tasks you want to complete on each day.  Your list may look out of proportion if your to-list is longer on certain days.

When using a spreadsheet to create your internet marketing schedule for the week, you are limited on space.  Large columns will result in multiple pages, which can be difficult to read.  So, you can use abbreviations.  For example, $ 5 ads can translate into arrange to buy five advertisements on applicable websites.

In conclusion, there are many ways for you to create a weekly internet marketing schedule, no matter what your preferences are.  As for why you should.  Remember, a schedule gives you more time to market your website, as you have a guide to follow.  More marketing can translate into more money.

Do you make money marketing or advertising online?  If you sell a product or service online, it is up to you to make money.  The advertising approaches you take, as well as the time and energy you put into those marketing tactics will depend on your income.  Essentially, the more time you spend marketing, the more your income potential increases.

Since time management is important to your success, as an internet marketer, you may be looking for ways to improve your time use.  You do have many options, including to-do lists, time management software programs, and an alarm clock.  Each of these approaches do work, but you should try a daily internet marketing schedule.  Once properly made and used, you will be pleased with the results.

Before explaining how you can make a daily schedule that you can benefit from using, it is important to know why you need to do so.  As an internet marketer, you know there are hundreds of ways to market a website online.  To maximize your success and your earnings, implement each of these steps.  Unfortunately, there is not enough time in the day.  This means you need to properly manage your time, starting with over the course of one day.

Once you decide to utilize a daily internet marketing schedule, you need to decide on how you want to do so.  The good news is that you have multiple options.  Three of your options include in a spreadsheet, with Microsoft Word, or by hand.  Each method has its own pros and cons.  For example, creating a schedule by hand is nice as you familiarize yourself with your tasks, but it can be a time consuming process.  Using a computer to create a daily schedule is quick, easy to read, savable, and printable.

If you want to create a daily internet marketing schedule in Microsoft Word, you can do so in list or chart format.  In most cases, you will find a list easier.  This is because you start with blocks of time.  If you work a 9 hour day, you will need 9 columns in your table, which is difficult to manage and read.  So, create a list.  Start with a heading for each hour you work.  For example, start with 9am to 10am.  Under the heading, outline each task you want to complete.  For example, write and 2 proofread articles to later submit to article directories.

If you want to create a daily marketing schedule in a spreadsheet, you have less control.  This is because you are given premade columns and rows.  You can extend the size of columns, but not rows.  For that reason, spreadsheets are one of the less common approaches.  Instead of taking the traditional approach and use columns for tasks, use the rows.  Create bold headings at the front of each row for time blocks, such as 9am to 10am.  In the proceeding rows, type what you want to do.  You are limited on space, so use abbreviations.

If you want to create a daily marketing schedule by hand, you still have the option of creating a chart or a list.  When creating a chart, draw a large box with 8 rows.  These are for the 8 hours or so you work.  Have on large column.  This is where you can list your tasks for the day.  For example, do you want to write 2 articles the first hour of work, market on online forums the following, and so forth?  If so, add these tasks to your schedule.

When creating your daily schedule, you have the option to outline detailed tasks or to be generalized.  A detailed example includes, buy advertisements for site X, site Y, and site Z.  A generalized example includes buy 3 advertisements.  Detail task lists are beneficial, but generalized lists can be used day after day.  If you compose on your computer, simply just save and print again each day.

Create a Time Management Plan in 6 Easy Steps

Do you do internet marketing?  Whether it is your job to market websites, services, and products for others or if you are marketing your own personal projects, time management is key.  In fact, your ability to work and manage your time is directly related to your income earnings.  The more links you distribute and the more interest you generate, the more money you should make.

Since time management is an important component of becoming a successful and profitable internet marketer, you may wish to revamp the daily managing of your time.  If so, continue reading on for 6 easy steps to get started.

1 – Brainstorm

Do not make the mistake of jumping right into work.  Instead, take the time to brainstorm and develop a list of internet marketing tasks.  Decide what you want to do for the day.  How do you want to market and advertise today?  Do you want to update your website or blog?  Do you want to submit to article directories?  Do you want to buy advertisements on similar websites?  If so, list these items on a scrap sheet of paper.

2 – Prioritize

You might assume that you are done after brainstorming your daily tasks, but you are not.  Next, you want to create a to-do list or a detailed schedule.  To get started, prioritize.  If working for yourself, as opposed to a client, you have more freedom.  It is best to start with internet marketing tactics you know will work.  Since there is less gamble, your work and the energy you put forth should pay off.  For example, submitting articles to article directories is “safer,” than using Twitter to generate clicks to a website.

3 – Set Time Limits

As previously stated, you can create a detailed schedule.  When doing so, use blocks of time.  For example, 9am to 10am can be used for writing and submitting one article to EzineArticles.com.  This gives you one hour to do the task.  Yes, it does apply pressure, but a time limit can also serve as a source of motivation.

If you opt to create a detailed scheduled, set aside specific blocks of time.  Even if you don’t take this approach, still create a time limit.  Before you start each task, create a goal time to have it completed by.

4 – Stay Organized

Those who are unorganized often have poor time management.  And, those with poor time management are often unorganized.  To improve the use of your time, get organized.  Make sure you are working in a clean and professional environment, even if only working from a laptop at your kitchen table.

5 – Know When to Outsource

Outsourcing is not the preferred method of internet marketing, as it does cost money.  With that said, there will come a point in time where you fall behind or feel overwhelmed.  This is when you should outsource.  Outsourced projects do not need to be large.  So, even if you only hire a writer to write one article for directory submission, you are still receiving much needed marketing help.

6 – Don’t Waste Time

The biggest time waster when working as an internet marketer is the internet.  Yes, this seems ironic, but it is true.  There are millions of things to do on the computer and online.  Therefore, it is easy to get distracted and waste time.  Set rules for yourself.  For example, no checking your personal email, no communication with friends on instant messenger, no playing computer games, and no surfing the internet for random websites while working.  The internet is a great source of entertainment, but not when you should be doing your job.
